Privacy Policy

Paperboy (“we,” “us”) turns articles you save into a scheduled EPUB digest delivered to your Kindle. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see your raw password), and your timezone.
- Kindle delivery address: the @kindle.com address you provide so we can email your digest to it.
- Content you save: URLs you save, the extracted article text and metadata (title, author, publication), articles captured via our iOS Shortcut or share extension, and posts from RSS feeds or newsletters you subscribe to.
- Delivery preferences: your digest schedule (cadence, time, timezone) and digest history (what was sent, when, and delivery status).
- Subscription/billing information: your subscription status and trial period. Payment is processed by Stripe (web) or Apple (iOS); we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Access tokens: a hashed API token if you use the iOS Shortcut or share extension to save articles.
How we use your information
We use this information to operate the core service: extracting and storing the articles you save, generating an AI table-of-contents preview for each one, assembling your digest on schedule, and emailing it to your Kindle address. We also use it for account security, customer support, and to let you know if a delivery fails.
AI processing
When you save an article, the extracted text is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate a one-sentence preview and to normalize the author/publication for your digest’s table of contents. Anthropic processes this content on our behalf and does not use it to train models.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that make Paperboy work:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage for your saved articles and generated digests.
- Vercel — hosting for the Paperboy web app.
- Resend — sends your digest emails and processes inbound newsletter forwarding.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — generates AI previews, as described above.
- Stripe — processes web subscription payments.
- Amazon — delivers your digest email to your Kindle device via Send-to-Kindle; Amazon only receives the email and attachment you’ve directed us to send.
- Apple & RevenueCat — process and manage in-app-purchase subscriptions on iOS.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Paperboy or our users.
Data retention
We keep your saved articles, digest history, and account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and saved content, except where we’re required to retain limited records (for example, payment records) for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Your rights and choices
You can review and remove individual saved articles, feeds, and schedules at any time from the app. You can delete your entire account and associated data from Settings, or by emailing support@paperboy.it.com.
Children’s privacy
Paperboy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
